Recently, a well-known engineering company contacted iShred to “clear this mess!”.
We were happy to make our way down to get to work and clear out this warehouse filled with unnecessary and unwanted physical paperwork and documentation.
IShred’s number One operator, Bronwyn, arrived on site and securely sorted and destroyed all documents. Over 300 cartons of expired files were securely destroyed in just over four hours. The warehouse was left clean and accessible, creating a safe environment for employees.
Because of the vast amount of documents it was a physically restricted area without any clear access. Not only was this a potential fire hazard, but it was difficult to commute across the workplace.
This type of document collection is referred to as ‘stockpile’ storage. ‘Stockpile’ can be dangerous for a variety of reasons:
- it creates a higher risk of identity theft and data leakage
- it becomes increasingly difficult to manage information and find specific documents
- it can physical take up too much space
- it can be a fire hazard as stated before, but can also potentially injure employees if stored incorrectly
IShred has now implemented a regular yearly program to prevent a ‘stockpile’ of expired files and to ensure compliancy. This ensures that your business is not only running smoothly and isn’t gathering unwanted documents, but helps prevent data theft and any potential hazards.
IShred offers professional, on-site document destruction services that efficiently shreds all types of documents. We can also help destroy data discs, old uniforms and stockpiled brochures or files. We aim to complete the process as quickly and proficiently as possible.
Our services include on-site shredding with CCTV so you can watch while we shred for added peace of mind. We also provide secure bins and boxes to store all unwanted documents. Read more about our services here.
